Expedition day 1:  September 11th of 2024

Travel from your home to Port Moresby, the capital of PNG, then stay one night or have a connecting flight the next day to Goroka Airport.

Expedition Day 2: September 12th of 2024

Arrival at Goroka airport and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon visit to the Asaro Mudmen Show.  After breakfast we head to Asaro River companied by the Asaro Mudmen. Performance of the Asaro Mudmen near the river. Lunch picknick and back walking to the Asaro Village

Expedition Day 3: September 13th of 2024

Moko Moko performance in the morning, afternoon widow scene and widow courtship in nearby village.

Dinner and overnight.

Expedition Day 4: September 14h of 2024

Transfer at 6 AM to Goroka Festival. Lunch check in hotel and afternoon Goroka Festival. The
‘Goroka Show’ is a significant cultural event in the Highlands region of Papua New Guinea (PNG).
It is also the longest running annual cultural festival in Papua New Guinea drawing thousands of
tourists to the country every year in September during the week of the nation’s Independence
Day celebrations.


Expedition Day 5:  September 15th of 2024

Goroka show. Over a hundred tribes from all over Papua New Guinea will participate in the event performing
extraordinary ‘singsings’ in a riotous display of color and sound.
The staging of the Goroka Show began in 1957 and was first introduced and organized by
Australian patrol officers known locally as ‘kiaps’.

Expedition Day 6: September 16th of 2024

Transfer to Mindima, check in the hotel and walk to the famous cave of the Skeleton Tribe, Lunch around the Cave and back to the Skeleton Eco Guesthouse. Free evening and lunch at the Skeleton Eco Guesthouse.

Expedition Day 7:  September 17th of 2024

Full day show of the Skeleton Tribe, the Insect Hunters and the Traditional Simbu Culture dances.
Mini festival at the Skeleton Tribe village. Dinner and overnight at the Skeleton Eco Guesthouse.

Expedition Day 8: September 18th of 2024

Drive from Mindima to Mount Hagen, early morning departure. We go to the showground to see
the Huli Wigman dance and performance. Check in the hotel in Mount Hagen.

Expedition Day 9:  September 19th of 2024

Flight to Port Moresby. End of the trip.

  • International and domestic flights to: Goroka Airport (starting Point) and Mount Hagen Airport (end of the tour Airport)

Accommodation is basic but clean, and at some places can be with shared toilet or showers. We stay with the tribes at local homestay guesthouses. Electricity is available during the whole trip, also you will have internet access. (For Phone access you need to pay extra SIM card at the airport)

Due to unforeseen events the organizers can change the program during the execution of the trip. We will do our best to follow the program and include all events mentioned. We make plans to cover most problems should they arise, which is very seldom, but the visitor must be aware of the small possibility of plans not working out as per schedule and accept this warning.


We ask for a deposit of 50% to be paid. As soon as we have the deposit your booking reservation is confirmed. The deposit is non-refundable.

We ask for the final balance of payment 2 months before the expedition commences. Cancellation within 3 weeks of the commencement of the expedition incurs a penalty of 100% of monies paid to date. Payments can be done by international bank transfers in EU, USA or Thailand (Asia). You can also pay by credit card and Paypal.
